112, the European emergency call number

Everywhere in the European Union, European citizens facing an emergency (accident, aggression, fire) can call for help the European emergency number 112. The 112 number is available free of charge from fixed and mobile telephones. In many countries calls may be answered in several languages and the caller may also be localised.
