As a member of the European Parliament since 2004, he forms part of the LabourParty Executive and is also a member of the Parliamentary Group.
The new Labour leader Dr Joseph Muscat appointed him, together with the Maltese Member of Parliamnent Mr Karmenu Vella, to make proposals for the reform of the Party’s administrative structure. The proposals were then approved by the National Executive and by the extraordinary general conference. He was also a member of another committee which submitted proposals for the renewal of the Party’s statute. He was a member of the 1996 electoral campaign strategy team.
Louis Grech is welcomed to the extraordinary general conference of the Labour Party by the Labour leader Dr Joseph Muscat. The conference approved the proposals made by Mr Grech and Mr Karmenu Vella for the reform of the Party’s structure.
