Louis Grech addresses an activity where he spokes about the work of the Party of European Socialists. Present at the function were the leader of the party, Dr Joseph Muscat, and the Deputy Leader for Party Affairs, Dr Toni Abela.

Other Political Activities

  • Head of the Maltese Labour Delegation in the Parliament, in which capacity he coordinated the reports to be made and the votes to be taken, as well as maintained liaison with other political groups.
  • As Head of the Maltese Delegation, he formed part of the Extended Bureau of the Socialist Group where (i) strategic decisions are taken, (ii) the policies of the Group on different issues are formulated, (iii) political priorities are set, (iv) the Group adopts a position vis-à-vis the European Commission, the Council of Ministers and other political groups, and (v) the taking of votes in the Parliament is agreed.
  • The maintenance of good relations between the Socialist Group and the Labour Party in Malta, as well as the organisation of visits by the Chairman of the Group in Malta, procurement of statements of support for the Labour Party, and other concrete assistance from time to time.
